Make your abroad apartment feel like home Campus Florence

If you are looking to spice up the walls of your apartment in Florence or just want to make your bedroom feel more like home these four things will definitely help you to do so. Whether it be a cute decoration or an addition to your bed these items will enhance your room even if you are on a budget. I know for me making my apartment feel more like home helped a lot to settle in.

1. Hang up your photos!

Having a hard copy of a photo is so much more special than just having it on your phone! Bringing my polaroid with me abroad was a decision I will never regret. I was able to hang the photos I took here up on my wall in my room to add some color and it made the perfect decoration! Make sure to stock up on film!

2. Cozy Blanket

Florence can get pretty cold in the winter months so having a cozy blanket like this one is a good investment. I chose this one because it is available in an array of colors and pretty reasonably priced. When I first got here my bed looked rather boring with it being all white, however adding a blanket such as this one was a great addition and made it feel so much cozier!

3. Scratch-off map

My roommate ordered this on Amazon when she got here and she inspired me to do the same just a week in. This map is so fun because it starts off as all gold but then you can scratch off each place you travel to using your nail or a coin. It also makes a great piece of decoration for your room here. I hung mine above my bed and everyone that comes to visit takes a moment to look at it!

4. Bedside Journal

Keeping a journal on my bedside table is the perfect way to reflect on my time abroad! You are going to have so many memorable experiences while abroad and will want to document them in someway. I have written down my experiences – both good and bad – in my journal and keep it next to my bed to document everything while I get ready for bed. I know this is something I will look back on in 10 or 20 years from now!
