The Stefano Bardini Museum, named after Stefano Bardini himself was the most authoritative Italian antiquarian. He eventually transformed his collection into a museum and donated it to the City of Florence. Stefano Bardini also organized a collection of works of art for love and passion to the Renaissance. Thanks to him, and his interest in Renaissance architectural decorations, stucco sculptures and terracotta sculptures were rediscovered.

Today, the museum houses diverse collection of more than 3600 works of art, including paintings, sculptures, armor, antique furniture, and more. Among the most important works are the “Carità” by Tino di Camaino, the “Madonna dei Cordai” by Donatello, and “Saint Michael Archangel” by Antonio of the Pollaiolo.

The Bardini property has featured buildings such as the 13th century Palazzo Mozzi overlooking the square and the Belvedere hill, which today is known as the Bardini Garden.
