Boccanegra Pizzeria and Restaurant Ghibellina Student Discount

Boccanegra Pizzeria

Boccanegra, named after the opera Simone Boccanegra by Giuseppe Verdi, is justifiably located in front of the Verdi Theatre on the corner of Via Verdi. Leveraging their reputation for culinary excellence in the traditional Tuscan Osteria (round the corner on Via Ghibellina) the pizzeria was the last addition to the Boccanegra dining experience.

The pizzeria can best be described as cosy. The wooden floors, frescoed ceilings and walls lined with wine are welcoming and entice you into this charming little space. The pizzas are made at the bancone right there in front of you and you can choose from a list of traditional or special seasonal toppings.

What’s so special about their Pizza? “A soft dough made with stoneground flour, sourdough and leavening of two days: this is how we prepare our pizza, either the classic neapolitan version or the Florentine typical Pizza Carta”

What is Pizza Carta? Carta means paper in Italian and refers to the very thin based pizza which is typical in Florence.

We love the atmosphere in here. It is the perfect place for dinner with a couple of friends. The pizza is delicious. If you don’t want to drink house wine, they have an amazing wine list that includes great wines for reasonable prices. And we recommend that you save space for dessert 😉

  1. Nous étions un groupe de 9 personnes et nous avons mangé une pizza.
Jamais de pizza aussi mauvaise, même les surgelées françaises sont meilleures.
A ROME, nous nous sommes régalés avec les pizzas, donc restaurant nul.
