The Uffizi Gallery is not only the most famous museum in Florence, but one of the most famous museums in the world! It is the largest collection of renaissance art in the world and some of the most famous works are by Boticelli, Leonardo da Vinco and Caravaggio.
Originally built to serve as a place to house administrative and legal offices in Florence. Today, the Gallery features artwork on the first and second floors. It’s famous worldwide for its outstanding collections of ancient sculptures and paintings. These artworks have a wide range of when they were created, starting from the Middle Ages to the Modern Period. The collections of paintings from the 14th-century and Renaissance period include some absolute masterpieces like Giotto, Simone Martini, Piero della Francesca, and many more.
The Uffizi is also home to an incredible collection of ancient statues and consists of ancient Roman copies of lost Greek sculptures.

If you really want to make a day out of it, get the combined ticket for all museums, which includes the Uffizi, Pitti Palace, and Boboli Gardens.
Finally, European Union citizens, between the ages of 18 and 26 years old are eligible for a reduced price ticket! Make sure you bring your passport or ID card. For the rest of us, for the moment we can still take advantage of FREE entry on on the first Sunday of the month.
