Restaurant Signoria Osteria Della Condotta Steak Bistecca Lunch Dinner Florence

Osteria della Condotta

Back in the day, an osteria, or inn, was a local gathering spot where the old men played cards and drank local wine. Over time, while retaining their rustic ambiance, they started serving simple, home-cooked meals. Now, in Florence, they typically offer a more abundant menu which stays true to tradition by including regional dishes and using local produce.

Osteria della Condotta has a long list of handmade pasta dishes including pici (thick spaghetti), gnocchi, ravioli, tagliatelle and lasagne. With traditional tuscan sauces like butter and sage, wild boar ragu, porcini mushrooms and truffles. As well as local meat specialities such ossobuco and tagliata sliced steak.

The rustic Tuscan interior together with floor to ceiling windows gives the restaurant an indoor/outdoor feel with a window onto the daily life of via della Condotta. Plus there is a secret little courtyard which is perfect for when you want to meet up for a chat and catch up with a friend. If you are eating in a big group there are big tables or private rooms.

Campus Florence Favorites

There are all different reasons to go out to dinner in Florence. It doesn’t always have to be a big deal or expensive. This is great place to stop in for a bowl of pasta and a couple of glasses of house wine. My favorite is pici all’amatriciana (tomato and bacon sauce). Ask for a window seat!
