Cenacolo Last Supper Andrea Del Sarto San Salvi Florence

Last Supper by Andrea del Sarto

Andrea Del Sarto’s Cenacolo (Last Supper) and Museum, is located inside the San Salvi church which is just outside the historic center of Florence.

The thing that sets this museum apart from several others is the untouched pieces within the exhibit. During the siege of Florence, this was one of the few locations that had surviving works. It is rumored that the imperial soldiers were so enchanted by its amazing modernity that it was spared.

The Last Supper is located on the back wall of the refectory opposite the entrance, it occupies the entire upper register of the wall, below the arch of the vault.

Florence is full of art and hidden gems which are often overshadowed by the famous museums and galleries. It can be well worthwhile checking out some of the lesser know masterpieces in Florence. The San Salvi church is only 30 minutes walk from Santa Croce square.

Opening Hours:
Tuesday to Sunday from 8:15am – 1:50pm

**Closed Mondays, Christmas, and New Year’s day

Price: Free entry!
